Finance Team Leader (Income)
The Income Section of the Financial Services team interfaces with both internal customers and our external clients and tenants, ensuring that income is managed in an efficient and customer focussed way.
Job overview
Reporting to the Financial Services Accountant, the Income Finance Team Leader will be responsible for leading and motivating the Income section of the Financial Services team, ensuring all the appropriate controls and processes are operated effectively and services are efficiently delivered.
The postholder will:
- Maintain the Group’s rent accounting system, taking responsibility for all Rental and Service Charge Income.
- Support the Assistant Financial Services Accountant with all matters relating to rent and service charge rises and all service charge related exercises in the year.
- Process the weekly debit on a timely basis
- Lead and motivate the team of 4 Finance Assistants (Income) responsible for all rents & service charge transactions, sales/debtor and bank (income) transactions.
- Ensure the rent suspense account is cleared promptly, perform the rent bank accounts reconciliations.
- Liaise with Neighbourhoods in relation to housing benefit overpayments and other matters
- Apply any group or statutory policy to rent and repairs processes
- Manage and monitor the debt recovery and maximize the income received by the Group
- Manage and maintain the Accounts Receivable ledger
- Provide the Financial Services Accountant with any relevant reports around Income and the performance of the Income Team
An emphasis will be on developing effective stakeholder relationship within the wider MSV group and specifically those closely interacting with the Income Team.
Person overview
You will be part Qualified AAT or have a good general standard of education with previous experience of working within a finance role applying strong financial & administrative controls and be able to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
